Posting Format

Every sim has a slightly different way of doing things. Below is the preferred posting format for the Fenrir.

1) Use 'ON:' at the top of the post, this means that everything below it is now In Character (IC). If this is a follow up to a multi-part post, you may want to use 'ON - CONTINUED' instead.

2) The main text of the post should come next. We use third person narrative. Speech should be contained within speech marks " " and all posts should be at least 600 words long. If your post goes over 2000 words you may want to think about splitting it into multiple parts. If the location changes during the post, please include the new room and deck in bold.

3) At the end of the IC narrative, close it off using either 'OFF:' if a single part post or the final part of a multi-part post, or 'TBC:' if the end of a multi-part post that has more parts to come.

4) Under the OFF: or TBC: add a signature for every character used within the post. This should include the character name, then underneath their position, then under that the ship they serve on (usually USS Fenrir). If this character is a PNPC rather than your main character, you should also include 'PNPC' and the name of your main character so everyone knows who wrote this character. Or if the character is one of our red shirt NPCs that anyone can play, include 'NPC' instead.

So, for example, a single post will look something like this:

Sickbay, Deck 7

"Terrible weather we're having today," Smith opened casually, trying desperately to fill the awkward silence that was filling the room.

"Er, yeah, sure..." Jones glanced across to Smith at the odd comment, wondering if the nurse was feeling okay.

And hilarious hijinks ensued.

Holodeck 1, Deck 11

Meanwhile, down in the Holodeck, an evil hologram considered the best way to take over the ship. Whichever path she picked, she knew it would need to take at least 600 words to describe in an epic retelling of the adventure.

Shuttle Bay 1, Deck 4

"Wow, that space battle was absolutely legendary..." Ensign Wilson let out a whistle as he exited the shuttle, touching the bulkhead to assure himself he'd made it.

"Yeah, that bit when the giant space snake nearly swallowed us, no one would believe it," Ensign Taylor shook his head, still in a state of shock. "Let's get these samples to Science," he shook himself out of it before heading off for a 600 word analysis in the labs.
