| Physical Description | Long and wavy red hair, blue eyes, petite, and very curvy...Rosaleen looks like a young and innocent woman. But don't let that fool you. She is no pushover. She also looks nowhere near her age, as she can pass for being in her late 20's. Additionally, from a visual perspective she indistinguishable from humans. It is only under medical examination that the physiological differences emerge between the two races. |

Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Rosaleen is a very unique being. As such I am VERY careful in how I play her, and try to always find weaknesses (which is actually quite entertaining). This race was created in Obsidian Fleet by me several years ago, and passed their stringent tests for approval. Now for the good stuff. Some of her traits. General: The most identifiable trait of the Ka'Bu is they all have red hair, blue eyes, and very pale skin (almost porcelain-like and flawless) Ka'Bu live a very long life...many centuries in fact, but they do age gradually. They are very loving, and extremely sensual in nature. Fun and flirty. Playful in nature. Extremely Intelligent. Their moods are accompanied by temperature changes as well. Additionally their eyes change appearance (color clarity and vibrancy) with mood and energy manipulation (gifts). Additionally, they are very gifted in the arts of music and dance. Ka'Bu will usually find any excuse to be unclothed as well, as they prefer to be as close to nature as possible, and clothing restricts energy flow. So as you can guess, modesty is not really a concern for them. They will flirt...they will make casual passes and come on to people...and they will follow through if the object of their attention reciprocates. And gender does not play into this at all. Gifts: Ka'Bu can freeze and manipulate time like the Ba'Ku, but with more precision. They can also phase to different time flows briefly. The Ka'Bu have psi ability, but no telekinesis. They can link with another person to look at memories, and the effect is like actually being there as the person they are linked with. The trade-off of this is the person linked with them has the same experience with their Ka'Bu's hosts memory for the same time period. No secrets. Additionally, after performing this it takes the Ka’Bu a couple of days to recover fully. It truly exhausts them. Their senses are somewhat hyper-aware (sight, hearing, and smell), and their skin is very sensitive. The most commonly seen gift is the ability to control their temperature and allow it to affect those around them. It is actually a part of the Ka'Bu's ability to manipulate their surroundings and natural elements as a whole. They are one with nature. To this end they are very sensitive to the natural energy field that comes from every living thing that exists, and are able to collect that energy and channel it. The can even lightly 'charge' their skin surfaces with this energy, but it is nowhere near a level of intensity for offensive or defensive use. They cannot walk on water (nor breathe under it), fly through the air, take out a squad of soldiers single-handedly, bend people to their will...no Q style stuff. A Ka'Bu can make a breeze, but not a storm. All bodily functions are completely normal comparable to humans...they have to eat, go to the bathroom, etc. Organs are pretty much in the same place, size, etc as humans. And the Ka'bu are definitely vulnerable to injury. They do have a protective ability if injured to slow themselves down...kinda like self induced stasis. This is only a temporary fix, and if they do not receive proper medical attention they will die from injuries. The Ka'Bu's body does heal itself over time, but this is more of the effect of making scars disappear, etc. After a time, scans will not reveal any prior injuries...just a completely healthy person. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | The good: Her natural gifts. Very strong engineering skills, specializing in propulsion, weapons and defensive systems. Excellent tactical decision making skills. The bad: As weird as it sounds, overly flirtatious and playful. The Ka'Bu are very playful creatures by habit, and it can be annoying at times, as well as a bit uncomfortable to some, especially those not used to it. Also, her ability to control her temperature is also automatically affected by her mood, which can be a serious issue at times. That is a matter of learning control, but she is young and does not have the luxury of having elders around to assist with her education and training. Also, Rosaleen does not show any real interest in areas outside of her expertise. Especially diplomacy. It’s not a good idea to send her on any diplomatic missions. |

| Background | Rosaleen was born in 2144 as Rosalair Rybeena was in Kreeshad, a large city on the Iator continent on El-Auria. Her parents, who had settled on El-Auria a couple of centuries before, both held doctorates in engineering, specializing in starship weapons and tactical systems. Rosaleen showed an acute intelligence from a very early age, and was far advanced compared to her classmates in Standard School, allowing her to graduate early and enter into the Institutional system at a much earlier than normal age. After Basics Instruction, she chose to enter the Military system for Advanced Studies rather than continue with civilian instruction, where Rosaleen's talent in weapons and defensive systems design set her apart from the rest of his peers. Rosaleen also had an adeptness in propulsion system design, but never really pursued it. After graduation from the Iator Military Academy, Rosaleen was assigned to an El-Auria Defense Force Scout Ship, the EIF Maltus. She was assigned to the Tactical Section as a Systems Officer, where she excelled and made several major improvements to the ships defensive systems. After 2 years, she was chosen to attend the Promarthi Fleet Shipyards Academy, where Rosaleen received her equivalent of a doctorate on Earth in 2208. Rosaleen was then assigned to the Prototype Division in Section 6 (this was the top secret design section, which dealt with highly classified system design), where she was placed in charge of several major high priority projects. It was also during this time that her sister was born, which was the reason that she could not be at home for this family event. In 2217, several incidents involving the Borg occurred. Several ships were destroyed with their crews assimulated, but the El-Aurian Defense Fleet had superior weapon and defensive systems, allowing them to drive the Borg out of their system. Rosaleen was then assigned to a heavy cruiser, the EDF Raeeshad, as head of the ships tactical systems. During this time, she never was able to visit her family, and thus was able to see her sister before leaving, and was only able to visit sporadically during her time on the Raeeshad. The Raeeshad was assigned on deep space patrol missions to search for the Borg, and to destroy them before they could approach the homeworld or any of the El-Aurian colonies. It was while investigating an anomoly in proximity to the Cephiraes colony that word came of the attack on El-Auria. By the time that they were able to reach El-Auria, the planet had been completely destroyed. This was in late 2265. The Raeeshad the spent the next year helping to protect the outer colonies, but they were destroyed one by one. In the 3rd month of 2267, while Rosaleen was at an automated defense station on an outer moon making some repairs, the Raeeshad was called to aid a colony (Xaliryeum IV) under attack, where the ship was destroyed, marooning Rosaleen for 9 years until she was able to modify an old shuttle found abandoned at a minesite to transwarp capability. After encounters with the Klingons and the Cardassians, she finially made contact with the Federation. Deciding to settle on Earth, at least for the time being, she chose to make her home in New Galway, Ireland. This was when she adopted the name Rosaleen O'Donnell. In 2306, she discovered that several ships of refugees had made the trip to Earth, and immediately searched them out, hoping to find her family. While Rosaleen did not find any of her family, she did find an old family friend, Dr. Fverian Maltietra, who was working for Starfleet at the time as an Engineer at the Utopia Planitia Shipyards. It was he that put Rosaleen into contact with Starfleet, where he was accepted into Officers Candidate School. After graduation, she was assigned to the Utopia Planitia Shipyards to work with Dr. Maltietra, but Rosaleen also worked for other Starfleet divisions on special assignment, including Starfleet Intelligence. Rosaleen also attended several specialty schools, and was sent out on several field assignments. It was while on Bajor on an Intelligence assignment that she learned of a group of Ktarians that had designed a new bio-neural weapon.(Ktarian bio-technology was blacklisted in the Federation). It was while making contact that she was caught by another intelligence officer, who was working to expose the Ktarians and arrest them. Rosaleen was placed under arrest and sent to DS9 for holding and trial. This trial never occurred, and the only punishment that Rosaleen received was a demotion to Lieutenant (which she agreed to accept) and reassignment. On 2382.09.17: Rosaleen was re-assigned to Utopia Planitia Shipyards, still as a Lieutenant, in the Shipboard Emergency Systems Division. He was assigned to the development team for the new Nova Class. During her time at the shipyards, she was in placed in temporary command of the USS Liberator during her speed trials and initial shakedown cruise. It was during this assignment that they received an emergency summons to report to the Wolf 359 system. They had been in communication with another vessel, the USS Lalo, which had been requesting emergency assistance, but they had to leave her behind on direct orders from Starfleet. The Lalo was lost with all hands (although Rosaleen would once again have an encounter with the Lalo...many years later). Rosaleen then returned to Utopia Planitia to head the Nova Upgrade project. It was during this assignment that he had the encounter with the Admirals daughter and received her demotion to Lieutenant JG. Rosaleen was then assigned to the USS Archimedes as Chief of Operations, where she was once again promoted to full Lieutenant. After serving on her for one year, Rosaleen was once again transferred back to the shipyards to work on the New Orleans Class upgrade project, during which time she was promoted to Lt. Commander. Here, Rosaleen would spend the next several years, with only a 6 month break from the yards to serve on the USS Nagasaki as Chief Engineer, and this was only to allow her to gather research data for the future Akira Uprade Project slated to begin in late 2386. Rosaleen returned to Utopia to bring the Nebula Class Upgrade Program to operational status, then was moved to the Akira Upgrade Program, where she also oversaw the development and redesign of several new fighter craft, shuttles, runabouts, transports, and auxiliary craft. Upon completion of this project she was assigned as the Starfleet Development Team's director for a joint program with Cerberus Corporation to develop an entirely new logistics system to be utilized by Starfleet. Special Notes Special Notes Something that is not known about Rosaleen is that she has several unauthorized connections with several other races, the most notable of these being the Cardassians. She also spent several years working on special assignments for Starfleet Intelligence (while officially being assigned to the Utopia Planitia Shipyards), and even spent a few years working for the Klingons (before joining Starfleet). The "Bajorian Incident" is where she was caught making contact with the Ktarians while on a special assignment to Stations DS14 and DS9. The only reason she was not put in prison for life was attributed to both the need for her continued research, and her many contacts within Starfleet's highest levels. The entire incident was kept secret, and nothing is known to anybody except within the highest command levels about the reason for Rosaleen's demotion and reassignment. |
